The President Calls Relatives of Attacked Guard Personnel to White House

Former President Trump stated on the weekend that he has invited the relatives of a Guard member fatally shot last week to attend the executive mansion.

He mentioned that he contacted her parents and they were “deeply grieving”.

Details on the Heartbreaking Incident

US army specialist Sarah Beckstrom, 20, was killed in a violent incident on last Wednesday in DC.

Her colleague, US air force staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, 24, continues receiving treatment in serious condition.

Memorials across the state have occurred in their honor.

Presidential Call

The commander-in-chief said he’s proposed a White House visit for the loved ones of both members of the West Virginia Guard.

“I told them: ‘When you’re able, because that’s a hard experience, arrive at the White House. We’re going to recognize her,” the president informed the press. “And likewise with him, whether he recovers or not.”

Public Response

Mourners gathered over the weekend at a local school in West Virginia to pay respects to Sarah.

Both she and Wolfe had been serving with the West Virginia National Guard as part of the president’s national effort to aid law enforcement in DC.

Remembering Sarah Beckstrom

“Sarah was the individual that instructors hoped for. She carried herself with inner fortitude, a warm expression and a positive energy that encouraged those around her,” Hankins, the head of Beckstrom’s previous school, told the Associated Press. “She was caring, compassionate and always eager to assist people.”

Memorial arrangements for Sarah are still being arranged.

Legal Actions and Government Adjustments

Law enforcement have charged a 29-year-old individual from Afghanistan with a charge of homicide and charges of violent assault while carrying a weapon.

The incident caused the Trump administration to suspend asylum applications and halt providing visas to possessors of passports from Afghanistan.

Condition of Wolfe

The airman, a native of the city, enlisted in early 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of his local high school, as reported by the Associated Press.

He remains under medical supervision and is “fighting for his life”, the state’s governor Patrick Morrisey stated on television.

The state’s top lawyer Pam Bondi informed the program that she aimed to speak to the family.

Legacy of the Fallen Soldier

Sarah, from Summersville, completed her education from Webster County High in mid-2023 and enlisted soon after, working as a military police officer with honor, according to the state guard.

“She had a lot of goodness and she definitely had fortitude,” he informed the audience at the vigil. “Though her time lasted far too short, she has left a mark that’s going to be remembered always.”
