Previous British Broadcasting Corporation Specialists Participate in Parliamentary Questioning After Claims of Prejudice in Unauthorized Memorandum

Former BBC consultants speaking at Members of Parliament

We open with queries from Conservative MP the panel's head, that leads the committee.

She opens by offering details to the unauthorized memorandum written by Michael Prescott and published in a national newspaper.

"I do not desire the BBC leaning toward one side or the other, My only wish is for it balanced, unbiased and just," he declares.

In response to a query whether he believes the BBC is institutionally biased, he responds: "No, I do not. It is important to note, a great deal the British Broadcasting Corporation produces is world class - both informative and entertainment programming."

Nevertheless, he states: "There is real work that needs to be done at the BBC."

Another ex-adviser BBC adviser examined by the group, Caroline Daniel, says she regards the British Broadcasting Corporation very seriously and that it maintains a "continuous process and lively discussion" on evolving and intricate issues.

"Whether the BBC was willing to have a thorough discussion and exchange and take action?" she reflects. "In my view, affirmative, they were."
