Ex- Physician Charged with Sexual Assault Charges Against Thirty-Eight Individuals in His Care
Legal authorities report that a former doctor now faces charges for carrying out assaults involving 38 individuals who were patients.
The Grave Charges
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with dozens of sexual offences – including some against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.
A deputy chief prosecutor commented, “Legal teams have diligently worked to support a detailed and complex police inquiry, meticulously examining the available evidence to determine that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
Scope of the Investigation
The charges follow what investigators described as a “detailed inquiry” into alleged sexual offences at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.
The defendant will appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on 20 January.
List of Offences
Prosecutors said the forty-five charges include:
- 15 counts of sexual assault.
- Seventeen counts of assault by penetration.
- Nine counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- Three counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- One count of attempting to assault by penetration.
